The vast majority of Alexander tetradrachms were NOT struck during his lifetime!They continued to be struck for over 200 years after his death. A very small percentage were actually struck during his short lifespan and only from 336 to 323 BC--a mere 13 years! Trye, Phoenicia mint, Lifetime issue, dated RY (Regnal Year) 22 of Azemilkos (328/327 BC), King of Tyre and with the Persian fleet during its siege by Alexander the Great in 332 BCsubsequently, Alexander spared Azemilkos life. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin.
